Re: Virupakshi/Indian Hill Banana

Harvested my first Virupakshi bunch. I harvested green after three or four fingers split. After hanging they began to turn yellow in a week.

I began to consume these bananas in earnest when they...

Re: Mystery Musa! Gabe?

Re: Namwa?

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help. I just wish Wellspring had notified their customers when it became apparent that there was an issue; it’s rough waiting a few years for one variety...

Re: Namwa?

I edited my last post so hopefully the photos are there...

Does Namwa always have pink petioles? I assumed mine was a Namwa but it doesn’t have any pink whatsoever.

Thank you so much for your help...

Re: Developing new variegated banana varieties

This is a good example of modified leaf scars and their spacing while growing in a curve but it's important to understand that this is a young growing point and not a mature growing...

Re: Developing new variegated banana varieties

You can find more macropropagation information then you'll probably need in most macropropagation manuals and the other things are just common sense.
Growing points emerge above leaf scars and leaf...

I had about 15 sprout from roughly 40 seeds? I kept about three I thought were most desirable and vigorous. It’s funny because some of the seedlings first two or three leaves would be solid green...

Re: Looks like I may not receive my order from Florida Hill Nursery.

Re: Bordelons!

I think maybe 1 out of 6 have. I've even tried starting some here and no go. I did get one to pop up from a small piece of corm and it's looking really good. I may start fresh with that. One thing...

Re: Bordelons!

I'll start one and not crash this thread. They aren't sick looking per se, just don't want to get big and full like they did before flowering. I have given away quite a few pups that didn't want to...

My patupi took a face plant after TS Claudette yesterday. I replanted yesterday evening after the winds had died down and measured him at 63" of pstem height. The 2020 Patupi was measured at...

Re: Which to plant

Did you happen to get your TC VC from wellspring gardens? I have a regular VC that looks nothing like the TC VC. Also, the TC had wine stains as a young pup, which made me think it might be an AAB...
