Re: Musa Saba Banana
Hey Alex
I am guessing between 12-15' for mine next year...
If Basjoos can grow to 11'+ in one year why not a larger Banana
plant with a 6' head start be at least 12'
I guess thats it-if it grows...

Re: Musa Saba Banana
Wow
Thats a lot!
I don't store that many but I do use a dolly to get the big Abyssinian downstairs...
luckily it's not to hard to bring up as it is lighter after 6 months in the basement .

Re: Musa Saba Banana
Mine will go in the basement next year instead of upstairs/inside.
When you see how big banana plants can get,it's worth it to
lug them around a little to have 12-15' plants during the long growing...

Re: Musa Saba Banana
Mines chilling inside too.
It has put out a leaf and looks healthy-
the leaf is toughing the ceiling 8' up.....
I can't wait to see how big this gets this year,
I am guessing at least 12 but maybe...

Re: I think it's getting ready to bloom
I agree....look for a reduction in leaf size, then the flag leaf.
A bulge at the top is a good indication but I think you would
notice a difference in the newest leaves first.

Re: Ensete Maurellii
MG can seriously burn the leaves-used full strength-
I wouldn't use it anymore than half strength.

Re: Ensete Maurellii
Where do you live and are you fertilizing it?
Mine has seen upper 90s to 100 and is not burning.
Some of the leaves look papery in the heat though....
but are in good health.

Re: Musa AE AE pictures & question
Interesting how much your big Ae Ae is stretching out between
each leaf...it's putting on quite a bit of height with each new leaf.
Time for a second story on you g-house!:nanadrink:

Re: Uncovered basjoos in zone 6
I dumped about a half a g-bag full of leaves on a corm of
Basjoo that I really wasn't to concerned about....
it came back.one of the pups is maybe a foot away from the corm .
These can be pretty...
