![]() First, thanks to everyone for the kind words and was only to happy to give you guys a chuckle. We all need one of those every once in awhile.
No Drew, Zone 9, but I have a North south Street that dead ends on the North side of my Garden. I have planted some Clumping Bamboo there for a Wind break, but it hasn't had time to fill in yet. Originally I came from Louisiana and my Momma was a "CoonAss",( Cajun French) and my Daddy was Indian,( Choctaw) so I have always told everyone that I was a "Half Ass". Speaking of the Cajun's though, reminds me of a True Story that is funny to people that fail to grasp the pure logic of the conversation. The quickest way to Ville Platte You gotta love dem Cajuns, chere! Ask a Cajun a question and you will always get the correct answer. A man approached Boudreaux when he was visiting in Mamou. "Excuse me, sir, can you tell me the quickest way to get to Ville Platte? Boudreaux scratched his head, "Are you walkin' or drivin' ?" he asked the stranger. "I'm driving." "Dat's the quickest way!" |

![]() Too funny, Hippie!
![]() So I was thinking of looking through some seed catalogues tonight and placing some orders. I got the catalogues before Christmas but haven't had much of a chance to check them out. Not gonna go too crazy though because I have so much already. I like to order new stuff though, that just came out this year...but only if it's really nice. ![]() It's quiet tonight...for a change. Just making myself a yogurt/banana snack... Kinda bored, for a change. : ) |

![]() Yes, I like to cruse the Catalogs as well, but I tend to lean toward the "Heirloom"
Verities, for the superior flavor. I got some "Brandy Wine Tomatoes" last year, but had trouble with them splitting open. I had them in 5 Gallon Buckets though. I have two 4'x 24' Raised Beds for them this year, but am going to try Rutgers. My Neighbor tells me that they grow well here and taste good. I need to start some seeds, but the Moon want be right until the third of Feb...........Hippie |

![]() Yeah, Heirlooms are the best. I have quite a few heirloom tomato seeds and have shared them with many people. Brandy wine is a great variety...too bad you didn't have good success with the
seeds. ![]() Hippie, are you in Florida? Curious. Waiting for the moon to be right...I used to follow the waxing & waning phases of the moon too, but not so much anymore. Checking out the new J.L. Hudson seed catalogue in California right now...I've ordered before and got some amazing stuff. : ) |

![]() I'm doing pretty good Tom...you? How's the Tuesday night going? I just got back from my mom's place next door.
So how long have you lived in Florida for, Hippie? No doubt you do love it there...I would too, especially with our weather! ![]() Not sure what time I'll be up until tonight, but it could be a late one. Hope to hear from you guys... : ) |

![]() I've had enough of it too!
![]() I miss my bike terribly! ![]() I think you must be like me and that's why you buy tons of plants in Winter JaNan...to forget about the cold. I order and sow tons of seeds for the same reasons. I just can't deal with this snow crap much longer but we still have at least a couple months left of it. ![]() I'm just sipping on some ice water and checking out some more seed catalogues but haven't seen much of interest yet...or things I don't already have! ![]() So tomorrow I'm going out with my mom for awhile in the later morning. I just have to get my mom out of here for a little bit. It's been stressful, to say the least. ![]() I was at the store earlier this evening and bought some new hair clips for my hair. I have to buy these really super huge ones because I have enough hair for 4-5 people, so it takes a lot to hold it up. I need these big honking ones to do the job right! ![]() Alright, sorry to bore you guys. I guess I'll make an herb tea and check out some more posts. Still feel like gabbing, feel free... : ) |

![]() Is it supposed to be nice for you tomorrow?
My Mom is having surgery on her knees on the 31st, so my Sister and I will be with her for that and maybe one of my brothers. I understand, for sure. I get cabin fever if I have to be in the house for more than a couple of days. UGH! Your Mom will enjoy getting out I am sure! I bought a Brazilian tree fern today. It looks kind of bedrabbled, but I hope I can get it to grow for me. It is called Silver Lady. ~J

![]() Not sure what the weather is tomorrow but I just have to take her out for awhile as she's afraid to go out alone and I won't let her anyway. I'm worried she could be attacked again.
![]() Hoping the sun will be shining for us... JaNan, that thing looks kind of cool. ![]() So, I guess everyone else hit the road? Was it all the hair clip talk? ![]() ![]() I was gonna go on to say I should wax my leather boots tonight so I don't have to do it in the morning. Bob laughed when I told him I use vaseline on my boots, but it's a great sealant that keeps the water out and it also keeps the leather soft and supple. I swear by it and recommend it to others. I'm debating now on whether to make herb tea or hot chocolate...if I make hot chocolate I'll be up half the night. Maybe I better just stick with the tea... : ) |

![]() I don't know a lot about it. I bought it because I thought it looked pretty cool. Here's a little blurb I just copied from the internet:
Silver Lady Tree Fern (Blechnum brasiliense 'Silver Lady') An exotic foliage plant that brings feathery greenery to a homes interior. Simply give this easy to grow fern moderate light, even moisture and minimal fertilizer and you will have a constant green companion. Dont over pot, this will keep its roots healthy and in time a trunk will form. Give this Fiji native an east, west or north exposure so it will have either morning or afternoon sun. I have to read up on it and find out what kind of TLC it needs, because it will need it. I know you do have a lot of hair! Do you ever get headaches from it or your clips? I know I do and I don't have half the thickness of yours. I wear mine in a ponytail a lot, especially in the Summer, but I am NOT a short hair kind of woman! ![]() ~J

![]() Yeah, I dislike short manly haircuts on women too and have had long hair most of my life...always will I think.
I disagree that women should cut their hair shorter, the older they get. I think it's a bunch of hogwash, because I've seen many older women with long hair and I think they look super great. Yes, I do get headaches when I keep my hair up for too many hours. At night I usually wear it down but in the daytime when I'm doing things, it's up. ![]() Too funny you asked me that because only someone with long hair would know about this. If I have it supported well, this can usually help things too. That's why I like to buy good clips... Um, maybe we should take this to the girly thread! ![]() That plant is really cool. The leaves definitely have a feathery look to them. I bet it will be a stunning specimen one day, now that it's in your care, JaNan. ![]() : ) |

![]() Yeah, I guess we should! I think the boys have gone to bed though. Hippie can participate about long hair though, right?
![]() I had a hot mug of some Russian tea this afternoon. Have you ever had any of that? It's a spicy tea drink. You'd better stick with the tea over the hot chocolate if it wires you up. ~J

![]() Yeah Hippie...where'd ya go? How long is that hair of yours anyway? And how long ya lived in Florida? I have a friend here in London who is from Florida. Why he ever moved here though is beyond me.
No JaNan...I've never had Russian tea. I like spicy though, so it sounds good. Yup I made an herb tea...not hot chocolate. I'd be up until 4 am if I drank HC this late. ![]() Maybe I will be anyway. ![]() I still have some shots to take for the girly thread...possibly tomorrow. ![]() I'm gonna try to get some shots while I'm out, if I can. I like taking my camera with me mostly everywhere I go. Never wanna miss a good pic. ![]() I intended to buy a new camera shortly after the new year but I have to wait because I can't focus on too much right now...no pun intended. ![]() I just meant that I want to do some research and find one that's exactly right for me, and don't want to buy it in a rush. I am pretty happy with my new sony cyber~shot for now anyway. It's a cool little camera, that's for sure. Well, I suppose I'm babbling again but what else is new, right? I do like to converse. If it wasn't so late I'd make some popcorn. ![]() : ) |
