Hiya Re: Insomnia Thread...

I'd eat it anytime too Tom, but nope Jack...lasagna isn't really a summer dish.

It's more of an Autumn/Winter dish for when it's cool outside. It's heavy and it sticks to your ribs so you wouldn't want to eat it in summer...unless you have air conditioning!

Hope you guys are having a good "Boxing Day"...which is what us Canadians call the day after Christmas. No, we don't try to punch each other out, in case you're wondering.

It refers to the stores boxing everything up from Christmas and selling it all off for cheap just to get rid of it. Boxing week brings some very low prices and good deals and it's the time to shop...if you have any money left that is!

Hope you guys are enjoying the season so far...

Just hanging out today...not too much going on.

So who's around?

Hi gang! We are back from our Christmas trip. We had a wonderful pre, during, and after Christmas and now it's time to REST! I took a few pictures out the window this afternoon (12/26/10) as we were coming back - I thought some of you might enjoy. We still have a lot of trees with their fall leaves on them and green grass in some places.

It's crazy, isn't it!? I still haven't brought in my palm tree.

I like to celebrate boxing day for other holidays like Valentine's Day, Easter, Independence Day, etc.

Sherry that is a very SPECIAL present! I absolutely LOVE it!!!! I love the way it lights up and glows. And kudos to you being able to capture that with your camera I might add! Great job!

I have to catch up reading on my favorite threads and this one is always at the top of my list. I can eat lasagna any time of year too, and spaghetti....yum yum!

That Didjeridu is beautiful.

That little lemon tree looks like it has really large leaves and very healthy. I can smell the blossoms from here! ~J

Hiya Re: Insomnia Thread...

Thanks Janan...I'm just in love with it too. Apparently there's other crystal pieces you can buy to sit on the lighted base also...like a butterfly or a flower in a pot! There's even an adorable tea set.

I might get another piece for my birthday. My mom has one that she got a year ago and it's an open oyster with a pearl inside. It's all crystal and the pearl is a little crystal ball. It was limited addition though so she can't get another one.

I'll take a picture of the oyster the next time I'm at my mom's place. It's just gorgeous, Janan.

The crystal and lighted base to showcase the crystal pieces on was made by two Italian sisters. It's handcrafted crystal and the heart I have is very pointed at the back so it has a lot of prisms.

So glad you like it too!

Did you have lots of good food on Christmas day, Janan? Hope Santa was good to you.

I've missed chatting but it's a busy time of year with so much going on. 2011 is approaching fast...

I have a crystal ball collection and a paper weight collection that I sometimes display on a lighted base. I also used them as displays for pictures of my jewelry that I sold. If I can dig some up I will try and post a few for you to see tomorrow. I would do it tonight, but I am really tired. You will like them they are so pretty. Not as beautiful as your heart though!!!!

Yes, Santa was good to me. I had a blast this year. It was retro themed, and everyone really seemed to enjoy it.

We had Feliz Navidad and had fajitas and guacamole, seven layer Mexican dip, Rotel cheese dip with tortilla and corn chips, jalepenos, stuff like that. Since we had it on the eve of Christmas Eve, we knew everyone still had traditional Chirstmas meals still to eat and didn't want them to be sick of it by the time they got to eat it. Everyone enjoyed it. We had leftover fajitas tonight for supper when we got home and it was just as good today! I took a picture for you but it is not onto the computer yet. ~J

What a fantastic idea...having fajitas! So thoughtful too of people being sick of turkey by the time they get to it! I love mexican food so it all sounds delicious. Can't wait to see the pics tomorrow or when you're more rested.

I am amazed at how much we have in common, Janan! I too, have a crystal ball collection that hangs in my windows! I have other crystal pieces dangling too...like a star, angel, and a moon. I'll show shots sometime soon too...

You need a lighted base to display your crystal, Janan.

I'm glad Santa was good to you. I'm cracking and nibbling on some Christmas nuts right now...my favorites are filberts and brazil nuts.

If you can't stay on long Janan, on account of being tired...I totally understand and we can chat another time.

I can't wait to see Tom's tree with dangling little lemons on it!

Zac, you in bed already?!

Not sure how late I'll be up to tonight. We'll see...

Mmmmm these nuts are good...eating a pecan.

Mornin' Gang!

Hope everyone has a great Monday.

Here's how it looks in London today...

I might go shopping later but not sure yet. If the sun keeps shining though, it might lure me...

What's everyone's plans for today or this week? I'm hoping to pick up some sales at the stores today if I go. This one place has reduced all their christmas ornaments to 75% off! I like to buy stuff for the following year and get it super cheap.

Hope it doesn't snow today.

It sure was nice to chat last night briefly Janan. Thanks for popping in and saying 'hi'. Looking forward to seeing your pics soon...

Might make peameal bacon & eggs for breakfast...

Anyone around?

Wow Janan...those are so nice.

Mine are a bit different...just plain crystal balls really. Here's my biggest one...

Believe it or not, that little baby cost me 100 bucks!

Here's a couple more that are half the size...

I collect them because I love the rainbow prisms reflected on the wall and rug when the sun shines through them. They're so cheerful and colorful.

Mine are in need of a good cleaning but I just took the shots a few minutes ago to give you an idea of some that I have.

I love yours too, Janan.

Please keep the pics coming...

OK I couldn't find the pictures I was hunting for so I went and took some new ones. Here is my closest faceted one similar to your heart. It is a diamond shaped and the light filters out all over:

My faceted balls don't have hang loops on them so I just put them on a windowsill to catch the sunlight. I do have an elongated one that actually has a led light in it so it lights up. I used to have it hanging from the mirror in my vehicle, but it is not there now so I am not sure where it it!

So beautiful, Janan!

So you have a lighted base too! That's so cool that we have nearly the same thing!

I get my crystals at this place that calls them 'suncatchers' so the balls have a place to loop a string, chain, or fishing wire through them so you can hang them in the window. I'll show the others I have later...

Thinking of taking a trip over to the mall but not fully decided yet. I want to but I'm lazy today...and it's cold outside.

Bet I'll go anyway but I'm just taking awhile to get going.

I'm on the phone trying to see if the banks are open today...

I love rocks and natural things (besides plants) that come from the earth. My biggest crystal is about the size of a football and all of them are naturally faceted. Here's just a sampling of my crystals.

And here are a few of my dyed leaded crystal balls

And my glass paper weights

I like pretty shiny things that catch my eye.

Greg doesn't have to buy me jewelry, all he has to do is bring me a rock! ~J

Those are soooooo nice, Janan!

Love them all.

Too funny about Greg not buying you jewelery...I'd still take the jewels too!

I like all your things Janan...very colorful and pretty.

Found out the banks are closed but I can still hit a bank machine I suppose. I wanna go buy some christmas candy that's been reduced to 75% off!!! Plus I'd like to see if there's any lights left so I can pick some up for next year.

I'm ashamed to admit that I'm still in my nightie and need to get dressed! Think I should go out for a bit...or wait until tomorrow? I should just get my butt in gear and get out the door for a couple hours.

Might stay logged on...
