16 blueberry bushes, 11 patriot, and 5 ka-bluey. I hope isn't too early. I actually had to move some ice out of the way from the snow storm we just had :P By the end of the day though, all the snow had melted.

I weeded a neglected bed next to the driveway. Have a lot of new banana pups coming up in it, probably for the Spring time sun. Replanted some geranium cuttings, some scented and some a nice red.

Planted two 90' rows of okra Clemson Spineless and a 90' row each of Pink Eye Purplehull peas, baby limas and green snap beans. This weekend should see the Squash, zuccinni, cantelope, cucumbers, pumpkins and watermelons. I'm also picking up three Red Angel Pomegranites and about twenty more blueberries. Gonna be busy!

Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?
I planted two Ruellia species its a unusual little plant that grows small trunks with large purple flowers. A great plant for the hardy tropical garden. I got them from Brians Botanicals

I planted purple potatoes and two elephants ears. The elephants ears are in a pot and the bulbs were as big as tennis balls. =D

I moved some Best mint clippings to a larger pot.
Maybe someone knows why they come from the store with large leaves but as they grow the leaves seem to come on smaller. Also want to start some red geraniums in a vacant flower box. My neighbor is digging out a section of my side yard where we plan to put bell peppers and tomatoes. ![]() |

I started out with a 75' x 155' and a very old house. The house was moved there around 1957 or so. It came completely furnished including bees in the wall, rats in the attic and a sprinkling of termites for good measure. I did this in 1976 when I was just 18. I paid $10,000 for it. $1,000 down and $100 per month on the balance at 0% interest.
A few years later I bought the lot next door for $7,000. It was the same size and now my property was 150' x 155'. In 1983 my mother past away and left me with half ownership in her house which was next door. I bought out my brothers half and now my property was 225' x 155'. In 1991 I had a house fire in my mothers old house which necessitated it's destruction and removal. My original house was also taken out so that I could join the properties and build a larger house. In 2010 I bought my last lot and my property now stands at 300' x 155' which is probably where my growth will stop. Interestingly I had been trying off and on to buy this property since 1986 but could never come to terms with the owner. When we finally did come to terms we discovered he was my wifes cousin that she never knew. We paid more for this last lot than we did for the first house! The property is not all that large, a little over an acre, but with carefull planning I am able to grow many things. I am quickly running out of room for large plants and trees though. It won't be long before my attention will be turning to filling in the smaller areas. Sorry for the long response.

Planted some ferns, alpine wallflowers, pulmonarias, gaillardias creeping jenny, and trailing coleus. Still have the 1 gallon pots of Iceland poppies, phlox, iris, coral bells, salvia and snaps. I also have a mess of pansies to put around trees for Mom. I finished the replanting after dividing of my hardy water lilies and water lotus. The lilies are back in the pond; the lotus has to reroot first.Am waiting with barely concealed anticipation for May 1 so I can move out my bananas, palms, elephant ears, philodendrons, cannas and caladiums.
Then come the patio plants- tropical hibiscus, mandevilleas, bougainvilleas, gingers, plumerias, other palms, angel trumpets, seemanias, Desert Roses, cacti, etc. I'll get my living room, family room, one bedroom, and basement back!!
