I planted a small bottle palm tree I bought at Lowes for $12.47 from regular $24.95! I think this is just a cool lookin' palm tree! And a Carrie Mango tree in the back yard. It's almost 4 ft tall. I'm a little nervous becuz this is the first time I'm growing a mango tree, cuz I just love eating this fruit, along with my wife & kids! It's also very expensive here at the local HEB grocery store. If possible can any mango expert here give some tips of caring for this tree. I would appreciate it greatly! Now, my friut trees in the back yard is set- I have 2 banana plants, 4 citrus trees, the new Carrie mango tree! I would love to plant more, but I have a small back yard!

Today I planted three miracle fruit seeds. I have a few small ones under my main plant that are volunteers. Now where to put them.

I also found a medium sized avacado, with really good flavor, like the Mexican varieties, and purple like the mexican varieties, with the size of a west Indian race. It was really delicious!! It was from the Dominican Republic, and I planted the seed!!

Best wishes to all as spring is near!!!

Two cherry tomato plants, three regular tomato and four basil.
I had basil last year and it went crazy. Little did I realize until about a month ago how much I liked Pesto! Now I plan to make enough to give to my friends.
This is about my third year in this bed and the soil seems real crumbly and rich. I hope that is a good sign.

It's a long-shot for me to even try but I just planted a pineapple top...not quite sure what variety but the fruit was frigin huge! It was larger than a 2 liter bottle tall and wide. we usually dont get them that big in this area of the country. But hey, cant lose anything in trying. wish me luck!

We brought a pineapple back from Hawaii what seems like a decade ago. It's offshots lasted until about last year. It kept making little green leaves but no fruit. But it was fun to just have around to remind us of our trip.
Good luck.

I planted small marigold & some cosmos. Marigold are good for keeping rabbits away. Other veggies & 'maters I'll start seeds or small plants outside in garden.
We reached 61* today!!! I'm thinking SPRING!!
Still snow in my yard but I'm sure it'll melt fast now.

Today's the day!!! Yup this is it , THE BIG ONE. For me it's the official start of spring, yup it's TOMATO PLANTING DAY Every year I plant one early , 2 or 3 old favorites and try a new one. This years early is Moskvitch, Brandywine and Prudens purple are my all time favorites. Japanese Black Triffle, a smallish ,great tasting oxheart shaped tomato first grown last year and was good enough to bring back and this years new addition is Cherokee purple( when I first joined Richard had posted some pics of these and gave them a great taste rating).
Any excuse for a celebration , right?

Question Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?

I had to read up on Miracle Fruit to find out what it was. It supposedly makes sour food sweet! And was proposed for dieters and diabetics.
Has anyone tried it and what was it like? What do you use it for most?
