I wanted to post pictures of my Dragon fruit, Night-blooming cereus, and the Thanksgiving cactus fruit. Soon I will be able to pick it.

My sempervivum seed mix is starting to germinate today, less than 1 week of planting them and I have some pretty high hopes for these guys. Many of my newly acquired cuttings from SMG succulents are also sending out chicks so by the end of this season I should have a pretty good collection.

I'll have an update on my blog about the sempervivums once the seedlings become distinguishable.

Here are a few I bought this past week:

These I bought a few weeks ago. They had teeny little buds on them and I had no idea of the color. I bought them for their big bottoms! I am happy they are two different kinds of blossoms.

I got some of those plants Willow87,

They are a different name in Tenerife on the crazy golf course.

Cleaning them before wrapping.

All potted up and thriving.

Yes they do Cameron,

How did you guess? I think they just flower on any bitty piece to be honest. I even had them flowering in a pot under a Cycas.

On Tenerife they are on volcanic type soil, but have auto watering sysem running. They are in every corner of the Crazy Golf, hard to Imagine the spread.

How do you look after your Ice p-lants in winter?

Inside in winter last year.

I saw a faded bloom in your picture lol.I was having a hard time seeing the color in the picture so I was curious. I got my cuttings from a friend who has them in clay soil. Hers stayed outside all winter in the sleet and snow and in freezing temperatures. So its definitely hardy in my zone (8a) I read that its hardy to zone 5a so I may plant it in the ground.

Ooooooh I could'nt risk it,

Last winter was extremely cruel where I live. We used to have no more than -1 at one time, last winter saw us with -13 in a sheltered backgarden. I even had icicles on a fleece bag.

Luckily I had the palm triple wrapped due to knowing what was coming. The hard Trachicarpus fortunei, forget. It it pulled at -13...I never wrapped it as it was supposed to be very hardy.

I never wrapped the English version of Cordyline (none tropical) was washing up in the kitchen and saw it in spring just lay down . So much for hardy.
