![]() Hi friends, first post here to share my first time fruiting banana. I received this Blue Java from the nursery exactly 2 years ago.
I live in inner west of Sydney which is approximately a 10b climate, although these last two years are unusually warm and wet. This plant was progressively planted up in nursery bags and ended up in a 200L heavy duty nursery bag, it also had a small worm bin stuffed inside where I would throw in food scrapes, this was mostly neglected and I have no idea if any worms are still in it. Blossom appeared 2 weeks ago and noticed the first hand today. I tried the same treatment on Goldfinger but it died back last winter. Interestingly, another blue java purchased around the same time that was planted in the ground has not blossomed yet, despite being much much larger plant. Lot's of possums and fruit bats here, fingers crossed I don't lose it all before they're ready. |
