it was suggested that i use aquarium rock. but i am not selling the idea of using aquarium rock here. i am just relaying my experiences of using it. which may help you out with your pon.

I guess I could have said that a little differently. What I was trying to say is people that do planted tanks (aquascapes) do not use the regular aquarium gravel. Aquarium plants don’t grow well in it so you can imagine non aquatic plants probably don’t fair much better.

To measure this I'll fill a one gallon container with the dry mix and weigh.

Then saturate the mix and pour out any excess water, after all standing water was removed I'll weigh it again and the difference in weight is the water retention.

when i joined bananas.org i was determined to give back as much as or more than i received. but you know what i see now that the longer i stay here the more trouble i can get into. and i always seem to like to get myself into trouble. lol.

gotta have a bit of more fun here..... lets see what i can do next.

with 15,000 varieties that sounds like one h3ll of a lot of work.
