Try this:
To make 1 litre of media, use distilled water. 2.1 grams MS medium 30 grams sugar 5 mg of BAP (5ml of stock 1000 mg / L solution) 8 grams of agar 1 ml PPM You can add vitamins and coconut water and Indole Acetic acid, but start with this. |

NAA is for rooting and IAA can be added, but apparently it's not heat stable so will break down when you autoclave. I read that on another post here, I don't think it's essential and only really used for making callus, which you wont be doing.

I've been a lurker and am a newbie here. I don't know what the purpose of this medium is or what all the abbreviations refer to. This is a bit esoteric for me. Is it a liquid medium for propagation? I'd be grateful if somebody would help me with this.

Thank you, Yakuza. I'm familiar with tissue culture; it's widely used for orchids and seems like a stone natural for bananas. I plan to retire soon to Thailand and plan to devote serious effort to interesting banana cultivars. I hope I can connect with some Bananas.org members over there.
Aloha, Ken |
