Joy Comune di Sicilia banana plant

Hi,

It's been a few years since I have posted. I am looking for a Comune di Sicilia banana plant. If anyone can assist I would greatly appreciate it as I have access to a huge greenhouse now.

Thanks,

Coastwind

They are growing a type of banana on Sicily that I am looking to grow here as I think it could grow well in the conditions we have. I have read it's a selection from around 100 years ago that is the parent of almost all bananas on the island.

From Wikipedia
The species does not differ significantly from Orinoco except for the smaller size of the fruits, and is cultivated on Sicilian soil together with the latter.

I'm open to that... but, the fruit looks different and it seems like a selection or cultivar from a time gone by. I really can't put much faith in wikipedia for plants that are niche as even local nursery "experts" know less. If you look at plant websites for even a short time it is easy to see that many who should know what they are talking about in fact do not know. I'd love to try this cultivar and find out for myself. I've grown 20-25 types many that were called duplicates of other better known varieties and they worked out much better. I've been growing bananas for 15+ years now and in a marginal climate, 9b.
