![]() My Blue Java bunch is starting to turn yellow. Are they ready to be picked once they turn yellow or do I need to wait a certain amount of time. Any feedback is appreciated.
I also have to Apple Banana plants with bunches on them. You can see one in the background. ![]() ![]()

![]() Thanks guys. Do I just pick the yellow bananas and leave the green ones to continue to ripen, or pick them all?

![]() if you pick them all then they'll all ripen around the same time. it depends on the type of banana, but on some of them you can pick the fruit as they ripen on the plant. i'm not sure about ice cream, but with dwarf brazilian you can pick them one at a time. chris (rmplmnz) would be the best person to ask about the blue java

![]() You can harvest just a few or the entire bunch whatever your preference is. Namwah bananas have a tendency to split but not the real Blue Java/IceCream.
With the cold weather we have in Southern California right now, you might be better off to harvest the entire bunch and let it ripen in the garage. |
