Re: What did you plant today (bananas)?
Nick, do you have any guesses at what "Paggi" is? I have a couple of young ones. Is it a tall Cavendish clone, a Gros Michel clone, or something else?

Re: What did you plant today (bananas)?
I don't know how to differentiate Cavendish and Gros Michel at that age. All the pictures online aren't very helpful. I think it may be a Gros Michel clone, but who knows. It makes a long fruit, and that is what I am after.

Re: What did you plant today (bananas)?
My first real, confirmed Ele Ele is doing great so was time to remove a pup, now planted on the left. Perhaps this more shady spot will help bring out the black.
Kru has been finicky. Never flowers, but never quite totally dies either. They get about 5 feet tall and just stop or rot. Clear nematode damage to the roots. Hoping this one will do better after 10% bleach solution treatment. Pictured on the right. |

Re: What did you plant today (bananas)?
Finally got power back yesterday after 9 days so it was time to get to work on my new lot.
These massive bunch of very large fe'i were at the farmers market today, so I bought some and a keiki. Another Mysore A Tongan Hopa. Basically like a Hua Moa. My first one of these. A Hua Moa from a friend. Hopefully it won't die like my others have. |
