Fake Ice Cream (Namwah)

Top of hands, cold damage I assume... the two sets of hands with the most blemishes were at the top of the bunch. I was a bit disappointed when I saw that the two yellow bananas were split...

Bottoms of hands

For an imposter it could have been a lot worse I suppose

It's not Apple banana ,we think Namwah. The Mysore are as big as their going to get. Been harvesting a few for the last couple weeks. They ripen up alright, tired of looking at them hanging around

I took a few pics last night during a break in the rain. They look to be getting quite plump, but as you can see they're still pretty green (and white )

Bloom #1

This one's been out the longest of the 3, it wouldn't surprise me if I saw a ripe one soon.

I harvested this bunch of Cardaba the other day, and they are starting to ripen now. So far, it seems to be a very meaty and chewy banana with good flavor but not that sweet.

Hi Clare, those fruits look great! Thanks for the generous offer of a sample. I will definitely take you up on it. I'll PM you to arrange a visit.

Have you tried the Cardaba fruits? If so, how do you like them?

Holy moly that looks good! If I'd known you were going to make that, I'd have found an excuse to stay around for dinner!

Thanks again for your generosity with all the different produce! I already ate one of the guavas (it was excellent) as well as a couple of the figs. The figs were also very good. What variety are they?

You've done some beautiful landscaping. Your place is really impressive. Nice work.

Clare, I think they are not quite ripe enough yet. I cooked some as "maduros" last night and they were still very starchy and a little bit bitter (like a green Cavendish). I think they need to be really ripe, like with some black on the peels if you want to cook them in a way that they'll be sweet.

Or you cook cook them green as tostones, but I think it is too late to do that with the ones that have already gone yellow.

Anyone with experience cooking Saba/Cardaba want to weigh in? I don't really know much about cooking bananas.

One bunch of my "unknown" type bananas. I let an entire hand turn yellow before I Harvested them. They are not as productive as SH 3640. The fingers are much smaller and average only six hands.
