![]() Hi Chris
How does the fruit of Ae Ae taste when ripe, even though I know its used more for cooking. You must have a big garden my friend to be able to grow so many varieties ![]() ![]() Last edited by mushtaq86 : 11-07-2015 at 04:54 PM. |

Ae Ae pulp is somewhat orange and dense (not too dissimilar from Ele Ele), sweeter as it ripens. A co-worker from the Caribbean broiled the Hua Moa i gave her when it was very green. One can eat Ae Ae out of hand fresh or pan fry, boil, broil and fry green (tostones). Chris |

![]() I have fought and am still fighting against procuring an AeAe but, if they're yummy cooked and unusually pretty, this may be a losing battle at some point since I'm a plantain gal at heart. Not yet...

![]() Thanks for the harvest video. I hope you got room in your freezer. Are you going to post a video when you harvest the Brazilians?

![]() Thanks for sharing Chris--you're an inspiration for where I eventually want to get with my yard. It's cool that you remember what everything is with so much planted. I am trying to do the same with my small but growing collection.
I'll have to come check you out sometime during the summer when you have some free time... I lost my ele ele over the winter and would really like to replace it if you have any avaioable. I absolutely love the look of the plant and fruit so it was a tough loss.

You always have an open invite! Thanks for the words of encouragement. Ele Ele is a very nice plant, I will shoot you an email when I have some pups (you are not the first member to lose Ele Ele...they can be temperamental..more than one person has come back for a replacement). Fortunately I have had a few visits from members of Bananas.org (two members starting a garden project were able to collect over one hundred corms South Florida Farm) and have thinned heavily this year. ![]() I don't know how your neighbors feel, but I love it! Looks like a lot of work, though... If I am ever over your way, I will contact you about a tour.

![]() Keep in mind that Key Lme and Mexican Lime are synonymous. There is an excellent thornless cultivar propagated by Durling's and others.

Front Yard! I apologize for the shaky video...I used a different camera for the back yard. Original back yard video...little shaky (may give you a headache...watch with caution). Last edited by Rmplmnz : 11-26-2020 at 01:29 PM. |
