![]() Geez, I hope that's not the one you're selling on ebay. I plan on making that one my newest addition! Looks like they've soaked that corm in water for two weeks straight.

![]() I just bought that on ebay.
When buying a potted banana plant you don't know what the corm is like unless you take a look. I prefer getting just a corm instead of a potted plant because it's easier to inspect and the seller can obviously see exactly what they sent and the buyer can easily see what they got.

![]() I don't know and that's one of the reasons why I wanted to buy it. Hopefully it grows fast.

![]() That's being generous by saying '' A bit '' I hope that it survives and that you can get rid of that rot.

![]() Getting fully established roots might not be exactly like what you're hoping for, same ebay seller.
A banana plant is fairly resilient and this seller has some rare cultivars so I'd recommend him to most experienced growers.

![]() Why do you think all their corms are in such rough shape? Is it growing or shipping methods?

![]() No, they came from a South Florida seller and they were packaged nicely with shipping being less than 48 hours.
These bananas came in a pot with a poor quality mix, but the purpose of these posts is to highlight that it's the buyers responsibility to inspect the corm. Hoping it is in good condition is not the same as verifying it's condition and taking corrective measures if needed. ![]()

![]() Hello there. I am new to the forum and joined because of this plant alone. I recently treated myself and bought a Variegated Florida from this same bay seller. So far, so good. I am in Zone 10 and the Banana was shipped to me from FL (So pretty similar climate).
Today is the first full day I have had the plant unboxed and situated and... good news... it is already growing. I can see a clear difference from when I took her out of the box versus now (24hrs later!). So far so good, I am so happy with it! It is about 3.5ft tall now and growing! |
