Yes, Tissue Culture bananas

Shade + Peat Moss/Perlite Mix = Healthy TC's

Once they get a bit bigger I will move them to slowly get them used to direct sunlight before I plant them on the ground or container

Last year I bought a ton of different varieties from them but I want to talk about everyones favorite 'nursery' banana... Blue Java

Last year when I bought it from them it was only $16 and now they are selling them for $80..... EIGHTY DOLLARS FOR A TC
At that price you might as well get a real pup from someone here or on Ebay.
Every other banana they sell is still around $15

Of course I still have yet to know if my $16 'Blue Java' is the real deal, but that's why I also ended up buying a real Blue Java pup from another banana enthusiast.
I bought 10 "blue Java" from them in 19.. I now have 10 confirmed fruiting namwah. The plants were 28 bucks at the time.

Yeah that's been pretty much my expectation that it will end up being a Namwah.

I'm already growing a Dwarf Namwah, Tall Namwah (true pup) & Blue Java (true pup)
Either way I'm going to end up with an extra Namwah or Blue Java.

When I got this TC last year I also bought Manzano from them as well.
I've read that Manzano gets mixed up a lot with Brazilian much like Blue Java and Namwah.

I also ended up buying a separate true Manzano pup just to be sure.
Once my TC Manzano fruits I'll need to ID to see if it's the real thing or if it's Brazilian.

i just re read youre post and sunlight does seem to be a factor in making the stem go black so hopefully once it is brought into full sun it will change colour

Beautiful plants!
Being a TC, mine probably won't turn black until it matures more and gets exposed to direct sunlight. Hope it turns out to be the real deal

Update:

My banana’s arrived and so did another members. Here’s what the TC’s looked like when I opened the box. If anybody knows why some pics are posting sideways please let me know. I tried to rotate with no luck. It still turns sideways when I post it.

Jared, they look really good and healthy as did mine from Florida Hills. I felt they were packaged really good and secure especially since the postman tossed my package over a 6' gate since I had it locked. I wondered what they would look like, but my truly tiny and little prince were securely taped inside the box...wendy

I gotta say I’m fairly impressed with somebody who has ZERO customer service. Mine looked pretty healthy to me, but I’m a newbie so that’s not saying much.

They were packed well and also taped to the box.

I doubt it’s a Dwarf Namwa and Dwarf Cavendish like I ordered. I guess we’ll find out by summers end. Haha.

Check your PM I sent more detailed instructions on how to post pics.

My suggestion is to plant them in a small pot.
Like a 4-5" pot and don't over water.
No direct sun.
Filtered.
only go up in pot size when you start seeing roots.

something like this size:

Roger that! My pots are slightly bigger. I used about 50% organic soil, 30% black cow, and 20% perlite.

Yes, I’m dumb. I couldn’t figure out from videos what the best mix was because nobody was really planting tissue cultures.

Will definitely keep them in indirect sunlight on the porch and watch the watering.

You mean like reverse osmosis water. I have a 4 stage here at the house. I need to make some water tomorrow.

not RO water, just don't over water, use too much. I'd also add way more perlite for better drainage.

Ok, like 50% or so? Got it.

When you say filtered...you must not mean filtered water, but filtered pots to allow more drainage?

I saw a lady putting coffee filters in the bottom of her pots to keep soil from clogging the drain holes.

Ok, so repotted as suggested. If anybody can help with picture orientation I’d be very happy. :-)

Before adding more Perlite:

Larry means filtered sun. No direct sunlight. TC plants burn up easily in the sunlight. Think of them like little vampire plants. I would put them in the shade until they get going strong like under porch with some indirect light.
