I've never had any concerns about plants I receive from AgriStarts. I have noticed though that during shipment a few of the plugs will be jostled out of their holes. If it occurs in a tray of all the same plant, this is not a problem. However, if you have a flat of mixed banana varieties, it can be a guessing game as to which plug came out of which hole in which row! Those plants I simply pot up as "Unknown".

Bud of Dwarf Namwa emerging from pseudostem at about 6 feet off the ground.

I can say for a fact that I have received other varieties mixed in with a flat that was supposed to be all one variety. Out of 288 plants that I've had flower so far 4 of them have been of a variety that I never bought. The real problem I've had though is that it can be a little difficult to differentiate a Dwarf Namwah and a Dwarf Orinoco when the plants are 6" tall.

OK, here it is. The rachis is emerging at 7 feet from the ground and the bud is 20 inches long.

Tony, that is the plant you gave me as tissue culture. I believe it has been 2 years -- the 1st year growing up in a 5 gallon pot and the 2nd year in the banana plat we built.

Hey, Tony, with all of the bananas you've had flower this year are you using some method to keep track of when they flowered? I think Jon usually writes the date on the pseudostem. I haven't done anything myself but wish I had started something this year since I've now got my 5th flower opening up this week (Belle).
