Dwarf Namwah!!!
Hi All!!
I got these new babies today!!!! Now I am apprehensive, because I hope I don't end up with a 'problem child' like musaboro did & red splotched leaves emerge. http://www.bananas.org/f2/pitfalls-e...html#post77632 If they do...you will be able to hear my shrieks via the text in that post. I was reading & culling info, plotting & planning my next banana purchase... ...when Bob's shining remarks on the Dwarf Namwah...sent me over the edge & I bought 2!! Wish me luck!! :) ~Cheryl |

Re: Dwarf Namwah!!!
Nice looking plants Cheryl. If you don't like 'em when they start growing, just head them over my way.:ha:

Re: Dwarf Namwah!!!
Nice pups! Mine is in it's 2nd Summer here in the Florida Panhandle and HOPEFULLY will produce this yr. It's 6'+ with a sturdy trunk and leaves from ground level to top. The "racing stripe" down the center of most leaves is attractive too...

Re: Dwarf Namwah!!!
We can't stop you we're addicted too!
I have several Dwarf Namwah and they are healthy and beautiful. The Mahoi is the one I started with and I have enjoyed showing off my double bunches a lot. My goal is to get rid of the grass and throw away the lawn mower.:raftingnaner: Good Growing! |

Re: Dwarf Namwah!!!
I have found that I need to work the DN's into a 'Full Sun' pattern for 12-14 hours a day.
They are looking stressed today. The stems look plump & adjusted well, while the leaves look like they're say, 'Help Us!' I moved them back a few feet from where I had them which will put them in a 'Moderate Sun' area, about 6-8 hours a day. I will eek them back out over a 2 week period. Thanks for checking in everyone, good to have your input & support!! :) ~Cheryl |
Re: Dwarf Namwah!!!
Dwarf Namwah has a thick stem, grows fast and tasty fruit. I hope you will enjoy hem half as much as I do mine.

Re: Dwarf Namwah!!!
Nice! I think that may end up being what I replace my DC's with.

Re: Dwarf Namwah!!!
I would. I have had no banana perform like this one. I really expect with a bit of luck and proper overwintering to get this one to flower. In less marginal climates not only that but just a great looking plant as it matures.
