Default Flaviflora vs Thomsonii

Did anyone ever clear up if the seeds being sold in the trade were Thomsonii or flaviflora? The photos on different vendors show alot of variation. I did find a publication that states they are different and not synonyms, and how to tell. I just didnt want to wait until flowering to find out.

Default Re: Flaviflora vs Thomsonii

I have encountered two papers from India published in 2013-2014 with M. Hakkinen co-authoring one paper distinguishing between flaviflora and thomsonii. You can check out
1. A taxonomic study of Musa flaviflora and M. thomsonii (Musaceae) Nordic Journal of Botany 32: 578–583, 2014 and
2. Notes on the Rediscovery and Taxonomic Status of M. flaviflora N.W.Simmonds and M. thomsonii (King ex Schumann) A.M.Cowan & Cowan
(Musaceae) From India. Annals of Plant Sciences 2013, 02 (08), 260-267
