Need help identifying two Bananas
Hey, hi, howdy,
I've got a couple of Bananas here I'd like an -experts- ID on please and thank you: First is this one I purchased back in May. I bought it at a Home Depot and it was tagged as "Musa SPP 'Dwarf Ornamental' Tropicana", but I'm almost positive it's a Musa Basjoo, right? Photos were taken when I originally purchase it and it's growth as of today. Including it's little pups. Here is the new girl; fresh off the shelves of Canadian Tire. The brown spots make me think it's some kind of Cavendish, but beyond that it's a mystery to me. It was only labeled as '6 Inch DG Banana' and that means nothing to me. Please do not bully my patio vegetables in the background. They were mercilessly cooked by the 50+ Celsius heat wave we had. |

Re: Need help identifying two Bananas
The first 3 pics are basjoo. As for the other two, could be DC but....?. Canadian tire was recently selling similar looking plants labeled as Dwarf Cavendish, but then I don't really know what that's worth.

Re: Need help identifying two Bananas
The red wine spots and the dark green leaves also make me think Cavendish, but if anybody else has a second opinion I'd be glad to hear it.
