It looks like we may escape this cold blast with a high of 83 F on Tuesday, 80 F on Wednesday, 75 F on Thursday, and 82 F on Friday. Low temperatures will be in the 60s F this week. I know I am rubbing it in a little, but we did get some frost with low temperatures in the 30s F on the 17th and again on 19th.
This could be the last significant cold wave for the south this winter. |

My 10 day is clear sailing a bit late for my DC. Lowest projected night temp is 44F on the 10th; it was 39 a day ago. I am so sick of dragging pots to the "tarping area". Kill Phil!

I whacked back the P-stem on the DC today--probably did it wrong but I did it. Had I not, on the spur of the moment purchased Mother's Day plants for myself which included the DC and a pomegranate (neither are happy), I wouldn't have discovered this forum. Perhaps you and others wish I hadn't.... ![]()

Kill Phil or at least retire him! Phyllis for next year's predictor! (Her name means green--not white!)
Love that movie. And hate it also. Feels like my life sometimes.

Over 80 here, which is great.
Unfortunately too late for all the bananas in the ground which were killed back and already have been chopped down. I just have one Grand nain that survived under it's covers in the ground. Then I have one Puerto Rican banana, one Cavandish, the two gros michals and the big Namwah(Abagnale) in pots. I just cut back Abagnale, since nothing had emerged after the pstem got bent over so badly. Hoping that the planted ones do come back. |
