what a cute decoration. I'll try to have fun lol, right now its nearly 80 and doesnt feel like the holiday season lol. Tomorrow the temperature will drop throughout the day and we will have our first freeze. I have to remember to wrap all of the outside faucets

Hey Sherry, I was at Lowes yesterday and they had a Christmas Cactus that had really dark Fucia colored blooms! Is that what you would consider a "Thanksgiving Cactus"

You got to admit that Mr. Jack had a pretty funny one there about the "snow"!

Wow Cam, that is such a pretty cactus flower!!! It's like a tangerine color! I've never seen that one before. Totally unique and special. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sherry, thanks!. I had a great Thanksgiving. I tried something different with the fruit salad, by using fresh fruit lol. My favorite was the dressing my mom and sister made, but out of the desserts my sister's cheesecake was the best. I made raspberry sauce to go with it.

Sounds like you had a great time with your family and ate lots of terrific food. I love cheesecake and I make it homemade. That raspberry sauce sounds divine!!!


Yeah, your cactus is really pretty. I like it because it's not like the usual kinds you see everyday. Very different. Wonder what Janan will think...


I don't know what I'm up to today yet because we're supposed to get flurries all day long and they're supposed to start soon! Yuck!

Yes it was good, this is the second Thanksgiving where she has made homemade cheesecake and its the best i have had compared to the boxed ones LOL. We had our first freeze here, although the only plant that is wilting is the one hibiscus that I couldnt bring inside. (Dont tell Cheryl lol) I'm helping a friend put up her christmas tree tomorrow, but other than that nothing else LOL

Any way to shut it off so it never plays again? Gawd I hate it, and sometimes my volume is up real loud and it scares the crap out of me!


Who approves of these changes, anyway?!


It might not be snowing but it's fricken freezing!


Not sure what the plans are for tonight...kind of playing it by year and seeing what happens...

Yeah, its usually a tradition in my family to put the tree up after Thanksgiving dinner but not this year lol. I'm glad you wont tell Cheryl, she would be so ashamed of me lol

I don't know when I'll put up a tree...or if I even will!


Some years I don't, if I'll be away. This year we're having Christmas at my mom's and she's putting up a tree so I might not.


I have a large beautiful reindeer that's lights up and is meant for indoors, so I will likely just light him up on a table, in replacement of the tree!



Then again...



I've been known to change my mind!


I gotta get something for dinner soon, but not sure what...

That sounds like a nice idea Sherry. Yes I'm so full now. I ate some leftovers and then some more cheesecake. I'll probably be 100 lbs heavier after this LOL.

Someone was saying in another thread that the average Thanksgiving meal is 3500 calories!!!


That's like three days worth of food in one sitting!

Yeah Cam, I think everyone takes a big nap after Thanksgiving, Easter, & Christmas dinner!


So how are you guys doing tonight? It's gonna be a late one for me...I can just tell. Had apple pie and ice cream at my mom's earlier tonight...





So now I'm wired on sugar!




I finally got the right Christmas lights today and my trellis is lit up once again...





I keep it lit all year long but I added some extra lights because it's Christmas soon and I wanted it to be really shiny and sparkly. White lights are my favorite and I think they look classy and elegant. I love a house done with nothing but white lights.


So here's my mom's small breed (not dwarf) Holland Lop bunny 'Buttons'...





Just look at those big thumper feet and that cute little black cotton tail...





Henry wasn't with us tonight because it was kind of late and he was going 'nite nite' but Buttons is nocturnal and was just coming to life later in the evening. Here's his play area and a box my mom cuts holes for him to run in and out of with tissue paper in it. He just loves it...





Here he is eating rice crispies from my mom's hand. He's nuts about them...





He's spoiled rotten and gets fresh organic fruits & veggies daily...plus his hay and pellets...not to mention assorted varieties of flavorful nuts too!


Kind of a dark shot but it shows him up on his hind legs getting a treat from my mom. You can see he's made a mess of everything and has pieces of torn tissue paper everywhere!

Beautiful pictures! I just love your Mom's bunny. He is a cutie pie! And the lamp you got for her is beautiful. I have one room in my house that I have decorated in Victorian type things. Maybe I can take some shots for you.

Yes, I am still up. Had a busy day today dragging out the Christmas decorations. Got the tree up and decorated and a few things outside done. It's not all finished yet, but I got a good start on it. I will post some pictures for you somewhere. As soon as I can load them and find the appropriate thread. HA! HA!

Thanks Janan...he sure is adorable but the pics don't really do him justice. He's so silky and soft and my mom keeps him brushed everyday...which he loves, of course.

I bought some really good toffee today, made with Brazil nuts, but I'm sugared up enough from the pie so I'll try it tomorrow.


Great you got up your tree, Janan. I saw these adorable little 3 feet tall ones today that were real. Even though I said I wouldn't put up a tree, I want one!


I might have to go back and get one...


So they keep telling us it'll snow but it doesn't. Not that I'm complaining but just get it over with already!


It feels cold enough for it at this point. Brrrrrrrr.
