Ok thats so cool that it can be both an ornamental and edible. I'm kind of it since you said that LOL. I like hot foods, but my tolerance for it isnt like it use to be lol. I'll keep it in full sun then. How long does it live? Can it live for several years or is it mainly a temporary plant? Sorry for asking so many questions

That's really good advise. I always think I'm doing something wrong and second guessing myself. I should just relax and not over think.

Yes, don't over analyze things Tom.


Besides that, plants don't usually just instantly die and there are signs of things going wrong long before actual death occurs, so improvements can be made. I bet your blueberry shrubs will be great.


Yes Cam, peppers can be perennial in some zones and definitely indoors. I like just sowing fresh pepper seeds each year though because the plants are more vigorous and production is better on new young plants.


You're gonna love that Black Pearl variety.


I saw that you posted on my FireCracker picture Cam. I can send you seeds for that one also and I've marked it down for next time.


I was unable to supply you with any other colors of Nelumbo at this time Cam, and I'm sorry. I only have the pink one for sharing because the others I only have 1-2 seeds for each. I may at a later time though.

It's Gaultheria Procumbens "winterberry". It's a dwarf perennial shrublet that prefers shade.

I already like the Black Pearl Variety. Its disease and pest free, that's a major plus. I cant wait to start growing it. My mom keeps telling me, where am i going to plant all of the seeds lol. I may plant some this year and then some the following years. The Firecracker looks so cool. I've never had ornamental peppers, or any type of chili peppers. I've only grown bell peppers. Its alright about the lotus Sherry. The Gaultheria Procumbens looks so cool! I like that it tolerates shade, thats what most of my garden has.

I wish I had've known you liked the firecracker variety, because I have lots of seeds available for it right now. It's one hot mother...... though, let me tell you!!! I mean HOT !!!!


It's an adorable shapely plant to grow because it tends to trail down the pot as you saw in my picture. The fruits start out yellow and upright above the leaves, and ripen red when mature. It's a serious chili and if you love heat, you'll enjoy this one immensely. I wrote it down on your seed list that I keep so I don't forget what to send. I did also send Masquerade your way though too for now, and you will love the colors. It turns like 6 or 7 shades before ripening red!


Will you grow the Black Pearl in a pot or the garden? If you want the leaves to be super dark and black, make sure it's in full sunlight. The fruits start out like glossy black marbles, then ripen to red when mature. Be sure to save lots more seeds from your fruits but don't let them get cross-pollinated with other hot pepper varieties if you want the seeds to be true.

I never thought I would ever grow ornamental peppers. I always pass by them in the garden centers but never think about them. I think growing them from seed actually makes it more interesting. I cant wait to see the Masquerade. I really do need some color indoors and outdoors lol. I dont know if I'll be eating them though, for some reason I cant eat as much spicy food as I use too. I'm getting old LOL. I'm going to grow a couple in the garden and some for indoors. Though I have limited window space at the moment lol. I wonder how the cross pollinated varieties would look like? Where I want to put them gets plenty of afternoon sun.

They'd look like a blend of the two that crossed together. One of the reasons I love growing peppers indoors too is because I avoid cross pollination and my pepper seeds are always true.


Oh you're going to have some color alright Cam, that's for sure! I sent those carnation and mixed morning glory seeds too.


Ornamental peppers are so fun and easy to grow from seed. They provide longterm ongoing color.

That is so cool. I saw a variegated Black Pearl in Lowe's before. I love carnations and I was just telling my mom that I wanted to grow Morning Glories the other day. I'm definitely going to have plenty of color. There is a tree stump that fell over in the back. I'm going to use that to let the morning glory grow on and have it cover it. I dont want to become addicted to peppers LOL

The morning glories I sent are all different bi-colors in many shades. Some are just gorgoeus, you won't believe. I grew some last year and may be able to locate the pics...

I know, you're right about that lol. Yes it had the black leaves but it had white splotches in it. I saw it one time at the Lowes down the street. I didnt know what it was until now. Wow bi color?! I cant wait to grow them Sherry. Though I'm going to have to make preparations around my garden lol

Those are beautiful colors! I've never seen those variety of morning glories. The variegated pepper may have been another variety. I do remember it having 2 colors on the leaves, one being white

Its called Calico ornamental pepper, thats the variety I saw.

Yes, those morning glories are really nice and the leaves and huge and heart shaped. There's many colors in the mix but those were two I took shots of. I grew them all together so there was a mix of colors but it looked like one vine.


I think the seeds should be soaked for 24 hours before sowing. I include instructions and descriptions for all the seeds I send so you'll know what to do.


I'm just listening to some tunes on youtube right now and thinking about getting some yogurt. I held back and didn't sow those habenaro seeds after all. I even have some Serrano pepper seeds too, but I think I have enough for now. I have a type called Christmas pepper too that's very cute and ornamental.


I did some serious pepper trading with people all over the world, from many different sites, a couple years ago, and some of the best I have came from traders in Portugal and Minnesota!!! They both set me up with some of the best types I have.


I want some white chilies and white sweet peppers next.

Thanks for including instructions. I have a lot reading I need to do on the different plants lol. The Christmas peppers sound cute, i love the color that the ornamental peppers have. I'm looking forward to growing them. You are a serious trader if you are getting seeds worldwide lol. I guess peppers come in all colors, I didnt know there were white sweet peppers. I'm learning more and more lol

I had a mix and one of the peppers was a white pepper. The seeds are about 3 years old now, but maybe I can start a bunch of them and see if I can get a white one to save seeds from.

It doesn't matter if the seeds are 3 years old Tom...they're likely still viable. I'd only need a few, if you have a couple to spare. Are they hot or sweet? Very attractive plants and thanks for sharing.


Yes Cam, I've traded with people from several different gardening sites all across the world. I've done seed exchanges with people in Japan, China, England, Turkey, Mexico, across USA, Ecuador, Portugal, Germany, and France. I know there's some I'm forgetting but this gives you an idea.


It's fun trading with other gardeners in other areas of the world.

Wow thats alot of places. I've traded with someone from another country. My pink wisteria is growing fast, I think I'll need to repot it soon because its starting to climb

When I grew wisteria from seed, I provided a little trellis in the pot or stake for the vine to weave around. Glad it's growing well for you, Cam.


Yup, I've traded seeds with tons of people, and then some. Sometimes I've traded with people more than once. Like Penny from this site...her and I have traded likely 7-10 times!!!


We worked it out that we shared all the seeds we got in trades with others, with each other also. Just 2 or 3 even, if that's all we had. All you need is one sprout and you can then collect seeds later from the plant.


So, you and JaNan's seeds will be there soon! I'm hoping by Saturday, but if not, I'm sure Monday. I don't know who's more excited...you guys or me!

I'm going to take pics of it tomorrow. I have some little bamboo sticks that I can use. I cant wait to grow the seeds too, especially the castor beans
