Lots of Sun in St Louis as well. 90 degrees and humid outside now. same tomorrow. My basjoo's are putting out new leaves every 5 days or so now that are 5 feet long.

Right now (4:35pm) its 87F with a dew point of about 67F. Pretty hot and humid but it is a little cloudy even though I dont think that afternoon thunderstorms will be very widespread today. Sunday is going to be 86F but more humid and I think that there may be some pretty impressive afternoon thunderstorms forming.

We're like 90's [fahrenheit] for the past two weeks. It's typically overcast with very high humidity and a cool breeze. We're also quite dry [no rain]! It's been perfect!

Not too bad here tonight at 10pm - 86f/30c and 81% humidity......BUT we have the first storm of the hurricane season approaching and it is over the USVI at the moment. This one is just a tropical wave and won't make it to a hurricane, but it is slow moving and it will dump huge amounts of rain on us, causing the usual flooding and landslips. So my job as a hurricane correspondant is starting early this year - usually I can take it easy until September!

Thanks Ante - overnight it has turned further south so it will run along our south coast and clip poor Haiti and the Cayman Islands - probably Cuba too.
The storms that battered France have moved over central Europe - none coming your way I hope!

Excessive heat warning in St Louis for next couple days. High of 96 with the dew point in the low 70s, makes for great banana growing conditions but not so comfortable for us humans. Doing to six flags today to the water park to cool off.

90 & it feels like 100. I wonder what its going to feel like when its 98-101F? Heat index of 110. :^)

The feeder bands have passed and now we have continual threatening overcast with growling thunder - I love these storms but the dogs are cowering indoors already!!! The towels are also on standby!! Probably time to turn off the mains feed to the cistern before it gets flood water in it - expensive and a real pain to have to empty it and scrub it out with bleach! 30,000 gallons is a big cistern. We have plenty of dog food, diesel, propane and drinking water so we are set - and rum naturally!!!

Wow its fricken Hot!!! The sun felt like it was burrowing into my feet when I was checking the yard (I guess flip flops isn't the way to go in the sun). Ensete M. is getting some serious leaf burn..
