The wind has been blowing here for two days, gust to forty mph. THey say high of 60 feels more like 50 pretty chilly.

70s for the weekend! Mid 40s right now. :'(

It's warmer in Wisconsin than here (PATTY...grrr) and my little TC plantlets from Agristarts are having to deal with it at the post office for another night. I hope nothing dies...or else the people who told Richard to ship on Monday should have a guilty conscience.

Aaaack!

Mitchel, it's been so cold & gloomy I noticed my favorite 'famous' pup is not doing anything. Being a little worried I checked the roots today. I only watered once when I potted & the mix is just too damp so I added more perlite & vermiculite with mix around the roots. Then I put it outside for a little sun. I'm sure it'll be all right. Good thing I checked. I'm sure if it EVER warms up all will be ok.

Taylor, I think you also said to ship on Monday LOL. Last week we had frost almost every night.
I was wondering if Richard shipped our plants Mon. S'posed to take 2 days - I watched for mailman & nothing. Good thing we will warm to 50's & maybe low 60's thru Friday.
I think our temps are more the same...official temp is always warmer cuz airport is close to lake. Few miles west is prolly 30's.
Do you have a tracking #? I don't.

When I pot a pup that's fresh dug from my own yard I don't expect to see growth for a month or longer. Usually there is some initial growth from stored energy but once the corm realizes it's been cut and transplanted they stop growing and try to make new roots to power up the corm again before pushing new leaves. We all have our ways but as I've said in other posts I only water freshly potted pups once, and then I wait to see new growth around the 30 day mark before watering again or planting out in the ground. Of course this works for me in my zone in spring/summer but maybe not in an arid or really humid zone.

Patty,
I waited too but nothing. Nope to the tracking number. Maybe he got busy or maybe he's waiting. Who knows...

I said to ship out last Wednesday, but conceded when there was an overwhelming response towards Monday.

Patty, I'm in the 90's until about three o'clock and then I get a ripping thunderstorm of the type normally only seen in vintage Hammer horror films (you know, lightning every 20-30 seconds, thunder never really stops rolling.) It hailed today.

I haven't seen any vintage Hammer films in ages. The remake of "Wicker Man" doesn't count. Another can of worms opened!

We get some pretty spectacular boomers due to the presence of a massive f&^#&ing semi-active volcano, on whose slopes this city is built. I enjoy them immensely when I'm indoors, and seek the nearest Ceiba tree to cower under when I'm caught out.

It's a nice sunny day and the mail came but I didn't get my plants. I won't be home for next couple days.

Thunderstorms are really nice if your protected. They are very nice in Florida, but when I was in SoCal and we got a thunderstorm, it caused flooding and erosion. It was quite a learning experience.
