Banana Stickers

Here are a couple of designs for Bananas.org promotional stickers. The bunch o' nanners is 3-colour, suitable for screening to vinyl. The monkey is 10-colour (by my count) and suitable for laser-printing to mylar.

Cool! I really like the first one. What if you inserted the word "growing" so that it read "Everything you always wanted to know about growing bananas, but didn't know where to ask"...that might help folks to realize that they can find out more on this site than just about the fruit. I think a lot of people who hear about this site might think it is only about the banana fruit (like recipes or something) and don't realize that there is a ton of info here on actually growing the plant. Then again, they'd find that out if they checked out the sight, huh? Oh well, just a thought. Cool stickers, though. Is Jarred thinking of having you do some?

Disregard my last question. I just saw the other thread where you and Jarred are discussing it. This looks like fun. I'd be interested in getting some at some point to help advertise the org. I just had an article on growing bananas published in a newsletter of a group here in the Houston area called Urban Harvest. They assist community members who want to participate in urban/community gardening. I know the executive director and asked him if I could submit and article and he said sure. I wish I had thought to put the orgs web address in the article.

Actually, there was a request of sorts for a design for Bananas.org stickers in the farmer's market sales thread, and these are my response to them.

I can certainly do a "grow your own" monkey. Great idea!

Bananaman - I'm going to defend leaving the wording as "Everything you always wanted to know about bananas*" for the pun value alone. (Check out Woody Allen on the IMDB to see what I'm talking about, if you don't already know...)

And here he is!

I love them! I think these are great, all three of them. And I think printing them there in Ecuador would probably be best.
Now we need to determine if there are more stickers coming down the pipeline

or if these designs will cap the ideas, then determine which to send to the printer (and hash out the pricing, which Lorax and I can do over PM)..
Maybe printing two of them is a good idea? We can always save more ideas for a run later on down the line, so each design will be a limited edition perhaps.

I like the idea of limited editions of 500 or 1000 of each design, and then we rotate them. I've had a few more ideas for stickers, which I'll post eventually. There are a great number of viable variations of the theme.... And of course anybody who has ideas should let me know!

Yup. Illustrator CS3 Mac, on an older MacBook Pro. Eventually I'll upgrade to a standalone and CS4, but until then....
