Thanx for the info Richard ! Need to study these Passion Flowers a lot more. Till now, all I knew was that they were Passion flowers and looked awesome. Oh, and that they don't like winter.
Will definitely check "Passiflora edulis" out & learn more. Sounds like lots of fruit! Is it edible?

Thanx Jack ! I'll definitely check out your pics!

"Frederick" is the cultivar developed by CRFG founder Paul Thomson. Established vines are hardy in zone 9b -- provided there is no sustained freeze. The fruit sells for $4 each in New York.

Be careful what you wish for. I planted one little plant of Passiflora incarnata (maypop) 3 years ago. It now covers over 20 feet of fence, tries to cover all the plants in front of it (buddleia, lavender, balloon flowers, iris, phlox, etc.), and grows into the lawn. It's terribly invasive; beautiful...just know what you're getting in to.

I agree with you. I've never seen any of my manzano's open the inflorescence before bending back down. How tall is it?

It is a datura (more info in my photo gallery). Yes that is a cat. Sorry for the picture quality. The flash really glared on his white coat, but I couldn't resist snapping the picture with him smelling the roses and his eyes closed liked he was really enjoying the scent of it. Too cute!

My morning glory vines that I grew from a seed mix of different colors. I planted them late in the season, and they just began to bloom for me this week! There are two more different colors yet to come still...

Howard, I would love to have some seeds from your Maypop if I may. I ordered a plant from a nurserey 5-6 yrs ago & it gave the most beautiful flowers I ever saw. It died over winter. I bought passion fruit 1 1/2 -2 yrs ago & planted the seeds, & the vines are growing like crazy but I can't get a flower. Could I trade you something for some seeds? Thanks! Or, could I pay you for sending them to me?
