The maple trees are blooming as are some daylilies. Camelias are also blooming. A stray sunflower under the bird feeder has opened up. Tomorrow I might have a different tale since tonight we're suppose to have a freeze, a hard freeze, like upper twenties. BOOO!

wow that is awesome! I have a meyer lemon tree as well, but its only budding now. So from bud to the start of a fruit is about a month? and then maybe 3 months for the fruit to ripen??
I'll have to share some pics when I get home, but I have some from last week on my blog.

Sounds about right, Tommyg. I am just hopeful that they won't fall off as well. There are 2-3 smaller fruit on other branches, but I will just be glad if these two make it. Watch out for mealy, though! Within days of them beginning to swell, I found one giant mealy attached at the base of each fruit. Of, course, I went over the whole thing with qtips and rubbing alcohol followed by a gentle wipedown with lukewarm water on paper towels. I will keep those suckers under control!

Is that a rebloomer? I have a hell of a time getting any orchids to rebloom, including cymbidium. If you have had luck, please share your secrets! I follow all of the directions the orchid experts I work with tell me, but still nothing.

Right now I have my Stromanthe "Triostar" about to bloom for the first time ever, and I have some Confederate Jasmine indoros that is covered in Blooms. The fragrance on the Jasmine is amazing at night, its now one of my favorite indoor plants. I'm hoping that it blooms again when I take it outside in the spring. My orchid's flowers have stayed on the plant for about 2 months now. I didnt know the individual flowers lasted that long! And I have some peace lilies blooming indoors as well. They usually have a flush of blooms sometime in late winter indoors and then have another flush of blooms when I take them outside in the spring.
Also I still have some paperwhites blooming outside (they got a little crushed from the 3 inches of snow that we had this past weekend, but the snow melted away fast so they werent too badly damaged). The paperwhites are the only things blooming outside right now.
