Fool us twice, shame on us.

I've noticed a strange influx of new members with similar writing styles and/or avatars who post once (or a few times) and then never post again. Most of them are continuing to sign in though, but haven't added any additional profile information. I'm about to make some sweeping assumptions, but after the Eric ordeal*, I think it's in our best interest. If I am wrong about any of them, I'll gladly apologize; however, when asked what they need to know, the question is avoided and no pictures are made available. Instead, they just get dozens of "Welcomes" and "Enjoy it here" comments from real people that the new members sadly never respond to. For the most part, these people have joined since the banning of Eric/Seaner.

Sorry about all the screenshots. I've never seen this many illegitimate new members. Has anyone else noticed this trend?

Okay...I see absolutely nothing wrong with any of these new members. There are ALWAYS a bunch of people who join forum sites, do an intro and never post after that (or don't even do an intro). This is nothing new. Honestly, I think you're just being paranoid. And for the record, since when are you in charge of policing this site?

And as for the 'Eric ordeal' as you called it....whether or not Eric are Sean are one in the same (and I still don't believe they are after talking with both of them in detail) one thing is for sure....you successfully hurt at least one person's feelings which is unacceptable. In the future, I think you should spend more time working on being accepting/kind to others being helpful rather than scrutinizing every person that joins this site. This is not YOUR forum, Taylor....it is all of ours to share. Let the mods and admin do their jobs.

I think it's time for you to move on from that situation and stop dwelling on the past.

I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful when I say any of these things...just honest.

By the way, why did you sign off of AIM, Bryan, and now Eric is signing on with your same icon? He has never signed on before, and you have always been the one online. For everyone else reading this, I have them on my AIM contact list from a long time ago, never talked though.

Just to put this a little more in perspective: Taylor was once banned for having multiple accounts and a bit of misbehavior, and then after asking Jarred for a second chance the forum members at the time agreed to let by-gones be by-gones.

I feel that if you suspect there is some bad activity -- you should report it to the moderators and allow them to discuss it, with Jarred if they feel it is necessary. If nothing is done about your concern then leave it alone. In the bigger scheme of things it is apparently something you should not be concerned about.

LOL...I didn't realize I had to tell big brother I was signing off AIM. Actually the network here at the university went down for an hour or two. And Eric signed on before the internet died cause I was talking to him when it went down. I find it truly amusing how much creepy stalking you do to others. Elvis & Aash, Taylor did say he would apologize if he was wrong and I do see his point! He had his intuitions & was correct. And, I do not think he is paranoid AT ALL. I read those 2 links/threads Taylor posted and WOW. Isn't it obvious that Eric is Sean & that he's nuts??!! They write the same...talk the same. Why was Sean always speaking for Eric? "Eric says... Eric is..." I missed out on both those threads till now...I was gone that wkend. Think about this. Eric signed up here in May, all of a sudden Seaner signs up in November (Seaner's location was Denver). Where was he all this time before? I don't think Eric has any friends, except his 'puter. He was posting here all hours of the day (Sean said they had LOTS of friends).
There is a way that Jarred can look up the address of people posting here. On the citrus forum, a guy was banned & tried to join using a diff screen name but the administrator caught it. I don't know how that works, but that guy could not sign on at all - with any screen name.
I see exactlly what Taylor is talking about... most of those new ppl signed on in Dec prolly since Eric was banned.
After reading the 2 threads, Eric is really scary! I feel sorry for him -- that he is STARVING for attention. I got several pm's from Sean on about the 11th &14th(?) They were very strange & I then ALSO suspected he was Eric.
Seaner also said that Eric is mentally challenged & "their" Dad wrote for him. WRONG! I got a pm from the dad saying he does not interfere with Eric being on the forum. His writing is completely diff from Eric. I'll go find those pm's if anyone wants.

Taylor means well, and unfortunately, innocent people get dragged into it all. Chances are most of those posts if not all are legitimate new members. Let's welcome new members properly and not take them to kangaroo court.

Keep in mind that people who do come here to cause problems and play games with alter aliases and having conversations with themselves, manipulation games, etc., will consume your time - and when they do, they win. That's the only way they win is by consuming your time and efforts. So to minimize the impact, lets deal with problems as they arise and not magnify or multiply those things any more than necessary.

What strikes me as being funny is that whoever eric and seaner are, he/they are probably still here among us just as Taylor has suggested. Anyone can use a proxy server to have mults if they want to talk to themselves or create havoc, but as Jarred suggested, let the mods do their jobs. I'm sure if someone gets out of line they will deal with them as needed.

What strikes me as being funny is that whoever eric and seaner are, he/they are probably still here among us just as Taylor has suggested. Anyone can use a proxy server to have mults if they want to talk to themselves or create havoc, but as Jarred suggested, let the mods do their jobs.
