Having survived the last frost, we can look forward for the spring to come....
In the next few days , Italy will be hit by an Atlantic perturbation that will carry a lot of rain but also a raise of temps with minimum well over 10°!

It's almosttime for the "big excavation" !!!!

Re: Weather forecast

Finally spring seems to be here!
We have sunshine and temperatures get higher every day. Today we reached 16 ° C and it'll be around 20 ° in the next days. The soil is still pretty cold after the cold in the last days, but should be warm enough soon, so growth can kick in!

Unfortunately, Spring is not here for us. We got a 10 inch dump last night and it's a white world again out there. :(

Yeah, the "Ring of Fire" has been firy this year.
Pacific Ring of Fire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:

Ten percent of the world's active volcanoes are found in Japan, which lies in a zone of extreme crustal instability. They are formed by subduction of the Pacific Plate and the Philippine Sea Plate. As many as 1,500 earthquakes are recorded yearly, and magnitudes of four to six on the Richter scale are not uncommon.

I too feel sorry for those people,... it's sad. I can't even begin to imagine that - a country with extreme crustal instability and as many as 1500 earthquakes. I've been through 1 earthquake in my life, 5.1 RS.

Re: Weather forecast

If the forecast will be confirmed in the next few hours , next thursday will be my " Massive plant day".
I plan to put the nanas outside and plant them in the ground, starting from the hardiest ones...

I think I'll leave inside only the G.M. the Nam Nom , the Dwarf Nino and the Veinte Cohol to spare them in the event of a sudden backlash of cooler air....

I've also a lot of other seedling to plant outside, like tomatoes, zucchini, peppers and the likes......

Weather is awesome here, with 18+C highs and 8+C night lows. All my tender plants have been moved outside again since last weekend and as the forecast looks, our great weather will continue the whole week. Then we will just have to see what time brings:ha:

Pleasant showers, it's really beautiful outisde. 14°C, mild showers and the air is starting to smell and fell humid again. It's a welcome change after the icy, throat cutting freezing version we had here one month ago.

We have similar word "pooglądajcie" (ą = [əʊ]) and it mens "let's watch" but it has rather informal character.

Our similar word pooglądajcie also refers to You
pooglądajmy refers to Us

"look at" is spójrzcie (you pl.) spójrzmy (we)
"let's see"- zobaczcie-\\-\\-\\-zobaczmy:08:

Ps. we have national scandal today: President made 2 spelling mistakes in one sentence when he wrote condolence in Embassy of Japan :ha:

PS.
We have this holidays 2 times a year at St. Józef (Joseph) and St. Anna Day.
My town's name is Józefów what in free translation means Town of Joseph, because it was established by a count Tomasz Józef Zamoyski in 1725 (he established also other town Tomaszów) ;)

By the way...the Ornata variegata package arrived without any problems (the package passed the customs without being opened). No certificate inside :ha: ...

Re: Weather forecast

It finally reached 50F today. Its about time because we've had a pretty bad cold spell for the last 2 weeks, with a few snowstorms in that time period. I'm pretty sure everyone else in my area understands how bad this is when we are well into spring, and it still feels like winter while most other places are enjoying warmth.

Anyways I'm hoping to be able to uncover my 2 musa basjoos which have been dormant for 1/2 a year already by the beginning of June. Hopefully we don't get any June freezes, but anything is possible with a year like this one.
