Nice holly!
I have 3 varieties, one with yellow fruits - but you know you must have boy and girl to have a fruits, don't you?
I had one variety with bright edges (Aureomarginata) but it turned out it is too sensitive and died first winter.

Btw. WTF temps are you having over there? -8°C during the day? That's like a very bad January here. Even worse, it's like an exceptionally bad and rare January here.
These temps are not normal - weather experts say that this is the coldest beginning of december since...I don`t know.
Normally, we have these temps in January or February.:coldbanana:

Yesterday we had -10C during the day.

And photo from match Lech vs. Juventus I mentioned.

Italians had to wear leggings and ear-muffs :)

Today is the first day since two weeks that I see a ray of sun.... unfortunately the forecast says that ANOTHER low pressure front is going to drown us under rain....

The only good thing in this bad weather is the postal service that's going to deliver my Veinte Cohol, today or Monday!!!!!

A few light flurries this Saturday morning at -2°C...27°F.

Here's a shot I took through the screen in window a few minutes ago, showing last night's snow-dump and the owner of the building next to ours, throwing salt down...

Argh. Envious. It's been bad here since Friday. Some areas in Europe went through temps worse than -20°C.

No, apart from Berlin I`ve never been to any eastern parts of Germany before. As I don`t have any relatives there, I think the only reason for me to go there would be the visit of a botanical garden... :ha:

To be honest, the only area I really love to visit is the rhine area. Cologne, for example. Its climate is so mild that even green parrots (I don`t know the exact species) live there, freely. And T. fortunei is a relatively common garden plant, there.

Yeaaaaaah. About this. I don't like Germany at all. But I don't like my country either. Still, we could've been born in a worse one, ay, Sew? :08:

You can book some room form he Sherry, I am not afraid of snow and frost - I am a Pole (something related to polar and North Pole :ha::ha::ha:)

It will be very nice if you send two ways ticket too ;)- I will write you an address later...:ha::ha::ha:

Jack

Well, I am not sure what you are driving at but I actually like my country, even if there are more beautiful, reacher and WARMER!!! countries in the world.
I am starting to reconcile with the fact I can't grow here all plants I would like.
If I have to move I would rather move to some warmer land like Silesia or Pomerania.

I had Mediterranean's plant fascination about 2 years ago then I had had Trachycarpus, Beschorneria, evergreen oaks, eucalyptuses, Pittosporum, Arbutus uneo, Lurus nobilis and many other exotic plants in there garden, I built complicated winter protection for them, but after two winters I realized I can't make Italy or Croatia in Poland - it doesn't make sense. I still have the most hardy of them :

IMG_5077IMG_5147

but I think bananas are better then palms - they grow fast and are quite easy to overwintering at home.
