Default Trimming many mats with same scissors, multiple opinions wanted.

I live in ft Myers Florida. I am wondering if using the same scissors between a lot of mats with multiple varietys will matter for disease. I know the theory is bad but does anyone have experience of this going wrong for them?

Yes it will, If the disease is present then the scissors will act as a transfer device between which ever banana mats they come in contact with or any other plant that they touch. That is why like a doctor does you should always may sure they are sterile after each cut. Like dipped in alcohol. I used the same pruning shears to prune back my apple trees and spread black spot disease all over on them and I just missed killing my trees.

The tree service that I get my wood chips from uses the alcohol sanitizing method between some jobs and trees to control disease.

I also use the same knives to cut leaves off all my plants, bananas included.
But I am sure it is ticking time bomb.

Disease transfer is a possibility, with my cannas that have tons of seed pods that I have to trim off weekly, It would be impossible to cut each one with a different tool, so I dip the clippers in alcohol, or a bleach solution.
