Pup seems to have finally acclimated to its new home and is pushing its first new cigar leaf!

It kind of ripped open while it was halfway pushed out, hopefully just some residual stress from shipping

The first cigar leaf seems to have been stopped up and unable to unfurl completely. I guess that’s why it was ripping up kind of weird, now it’s pushing a new cigar leaf that’s not coming out of the center of the old leaf but rather next to it. The new CL is still too short to get a good picture of but maybe later today or tomorrow

It should sort itself out, I’m just wondering what the best course of action would be or if anyone has encountered this before ?

It seems like its growing pretty fast so don't give it any fertilizer. Its not choked but its encountering a bit of a traffic jam. It should calm down in time.

The one I got is pushing slow and steady, but this new leaf started from scratch and by that I mean the plant wasn't cut and it pushed out like a normal established plant would. I'll probably stick it in the ground this coming weekend.

Thanks. That one you have is going to be fine I think. I wonder if you'd be better off cutting below the choke? Definitely don't take this as advice, I guess I'm asking the more experienced members here in case I have that situation. The orinoco I got from Valor-X didn't do what yours is doing but it did get bent at a bad spot, so I just cut it. It started pushing immediately and it's rolling now.

Just couldn't stand it so I performed some minor outpatient surgery. It was getting more crammed up by the hour. I think it will roll from here
