The mother plant died completely and pups were popping out like crazy! Now they're not in such good shape. Why?

Please show a full picture of the pot. ... I suspect you have a water logged pot (soggy soil in the bottom) causing root rot. The plant needs to be reported into a a draining pot with a saucer. Use a potting mix & perlite at 50/50 mix for container bananas. ... But for now, clean the corm of any rot & black roots. Repot into course 'builder's sand' or pool filter sand.

There has been some shock/stress. If next leaves are normal, not to worry. The leaves represent conditions a week or two or three ago, not the current situation. If next leaves are normal, the issue has been resolved.

/QUOTE] Plants will do that when separated and the roots are disturbed. They will take weeks to sort themselves out. And you still need to get them in full sunlight. ![]() Windowsill light is not enough or they will soon look like the mother plant. ![]() |
