Haaa got two Gros Michel TC's today. from Chance1945 . Great packaging, in great shape . With the largest root balls on a TC I've seen in recent years
Now I'm happy !

I went to the DUMP
I know sounds like real fun don't it .. Was removing construction trash, my friend needed someone to share his dump trip . OK so , we drive in all the employes are eating lunch. One takes the $ 35 fee and away we drive to where you toss your garbage.. I looked next to where we are pulled in, I see 10 or 12 Papaya trees cut into pieces and all manor of other stuff piled on them .. BUT my trained eye saw some roots! I jumped over and lifted up some debris and found my TREASUERE of the week .. Yes a small Papaya tree with roots . The dirt was still damp I quickly place it in the truck and away we go . ha ha ha I don't know what kind it is and I don't care .. after all it was a freebie.. But but the general length of all the tree trunks I saw I'd guess it is a 10 footer .. So maybe a Hawaiian type ..

I planted a California Gold that I drove clear to Oregon City and back for.



The man gave me another not so healthy California Gold that I re-potted and gave some root stimulator.



And I bought this poor little dwarf Cavendish for $5 but I doubt it will make it. I re-potted it in a smaller pot and gave it root stimulator.

Can't plant Gros Michel here in Hawai'i anymore as they soon succumb to Panama Fusarium Wilt. It is too bad as it is a fine dessert variety. We also have problems with Banana Bunchy Top Disease mostly with our Cavendish varieties. There is no hope of eradicating it so we either have to live with it or get rid of all our Cavs and stick to things that are less susceptible such as the two Brazilian varieties that I grow in my own yard.
