Can't plant Gros Michel here in Hawai'i anymore as they soon succumb to Panama Fusarium Wilt. It is too bad as it is a fine dessert variety. We also have problems with Banana Bunchy Top Disease mostly with our Cavendish varieties. There is no hope of eradicating it so we either have to live with it or get rid of all our Cavs and stick to things that are less susceptible such as the two Brazilian varieties that I grow in my own yard.
