Well as long as the list was and as slow as it was going #49 last september. I would much prefer to have a TC than wait another year or two for the list to be exhausted to my number (#128). They saw a problem and saught out the best solution most likely. :^)

I haven't received mine yet -- maybe because I'm on the west coast and it takes longer.

I got a few tissue-cultured bananas last year, and they didn't do well when I planted them in full sun in the summertime. I didn't know that I was supposed to acclimate them first. They were tiny, thin little things. I think, out of five, only two made it. They were tissue cultured bananas from Greenearth. With bananas that have been greenhoused, some slow acclimation is necessary, I think.

At least these are fairly big plants. I think after the shock of transplanting and exposure to sunlight they will do fine. I'm not risking overwintering outside the first year though. Mine is coming in for the holidays...lol

I was #49 and got mine last July..... sometimes it helps to send a genuine .. not at all phony ..note... I talked to D and K and last year sent a note just saying I still have interest early in the season for the VC that I was on the list for .... sure didnt hurt... and there's 2 more people I think highly of too.... win/ win.... and maybe I'll finally get that flower ...and fruit too!

I actually received mine later in the day on the day that I posted that I hadn't received it yet. I potted it up and put it outside in part shade. It looked a little bit wilted -- probably because it was only used to greenhouse conditions, but I think it will recover. I plan to plant it in full sun, but I'm hoping to get it acclimated first, and I want to wait until it has a bigger root system before I plant it.

I should clarify that it looked fine when it arrived and only looked wilted after a couple of days. It might have just gotten a little dry. I'm sure it will perk up. We don't have much humidity here, which would probably help some. I'm still really excited about it.

I planted mine in the ground the day it arrived, which was May 19. Despite the blazing hot sun, reflective heat from the sand, insects, and a lack of mulch it is doing fine. The tattered leaves are the ones it arrived with and it has added three new ones since.

Yes I am.. It has a sand bucket of pot-ash mixed in to the soil w/ Mycorrhizal Fungi. It gets the fish treatment every 3 weeks as well. :^)
