This is my first season growing bananas and man have I learned a lot. I was finally getting around to transplanting some pups but thought I should ask for some advice first. I am in zone 8A DFW area and was wondering if its too late in the year for these to get established if I cut some of them off. Was planning on leaving at least 1 on each plant, maybe two on some if they are growing in a good direction. Some of them have gotten pretty good size so not sure if its too late all together.

At least where I'm at in 9A temps don't start getting cold until late November / early December. If it's similar where you are you should be fine but it's still more of a risk compared to leaving it with the mother plant.
Your best bet is to remove the pup and keep it in a pot for winter.
