Hi I just found this wonderful community and what better place to ask a banana question. I am interested in SH3640, does anyone have experience with it? I have space for one more banana and am trying to decide between it and Goldfinger (and maybe Sweetheart). Which is a better producer, more vigorous, which blooms taller, etc.
Thanks very much. |

Welcome. I don't have much experience with it, having bought my pup from Jon ("pitangadiego") a couple of months ago. So far, it is a vigorous grower for me. I was impressed with Jon's.

It is a mid-size variety, 9-10' of stout trunk. Nice size bunch, with very bright, fruity bananas. Doesn't need propping.

Wow that wiki has a lot of potential once filled out nicely. I hope to contribute to it one day. I think I will go with Goldfinger, although praying hands looks interesting also. You know what I really want now? More land!
Thanks very much Harvey and Pitangadiego. |
