gold finger has odd new growth after winter
Please see images. Roughly 9 inches of rainfall from fall to current day - so not much rain. Temps got around 28/29 https://imgur.com/gallery/EuCSB5g

Looks like it was choked and broke out the side. It will sort itself out, you can cut the old stem off.
