It should be very close to flowering. I just got a pre-flag on my BJ and its 11-12' of pstem. Big plant = Big bunch! |

Just over 11' of pstem. There are 3 pups 6' or better and 4 others. I think it's in a good spot. Can't wait to see what I'll get.

Yup I got a blue java when y'all did, it's catching up it's only about 4' of p stem but it's hitting a stride now.

The key with banana plants is regularly feeding them. They are more like animals than plants in that they really need to be fed on a consistent monthly basis during the growing season. My soil is very rich with organic matter and I mulch weekly with St. Augustine grass clippings but I still feed my plants monthly because they will suck it out. They are voracious! Lots of water and sun too.

Looking good!
I count about 14-16 fingers per hand which is a good healthy number of fingers per hand. The fingers will probably take about six weeks to turn blue. Mine have never been blue out of the gate. |
