1. Dwarf Cavendish 2. Ensete ventricosum 3. Musa Balbisiana (quizá?) 4. Musa Balbisiana (quizá?) Dutchmann; ¿por qué usted no lo piensa es un "dwarf cavendish"? Erlend

Hola Carlo,
Yo soy de Barcelona asi que no tengo problemas con el español ¡¡ La primera se trata con casi seguridad de una Forma de musa enana tipo dwarf cavendish por la forma de su tallo y sus hojas, Suelen funcionar bien en maceta y llegan a florecer. La segunda parece claramente una Ensete ventricosum tipo maurelli aunque su color rojizo es poco extenso. En este caso la planta suele alacnzar una mayor dimension y es mas dificil de mantender en maceta en buenas condiciones Las otras dos son mas dificiles de identificar ya que no tienen ninguna caracteristica especial. Posiblemente se trate de lo que en españa se denomina Musa x paradisiaca (es decir un hibrido de M balbisiana y acuminata) que se encuentra facilmente en los jardines de tu zona Si nos das mas información sobre su origen tal vez podamos afinar un poco mas Saludos |

que maravilla!! no pensaba que iba a encontrar a ningun español por aqui, me alegro muchisimo.
yo tambien pienso que es una cavendish, la tengon en maceta porque me dijeron que si que podia crecer bastante bien, mi pregunta es si crece mucho mas (ahora medira aprox 1.30 mtrs). en cuanto a las plataneras que tengo en el jardin, son hijas de una que compre hace 4 años, la compre en un vivero, produjo unos 14 platanos pequeños y regordetes, pero muy buenos. crecio hasta los 4 metros. no se de que especie será. graciasss  |

Hola! While I agree #2 looks like Ventricosum, I didn't realize it pupped like that... is that normal?

Hello Joe,
Ensete ventricosum usually pups when the main stem is damaged. This happens during winter and in spring pups star growing from the base of the old stem. Hola Carlo, En España puedes encontrar distintas formas de bananeras "comestibles" en los jardines privados pero casi nunca se sabe su variedad. In fact because bananas are not a common plant to be found in garden centers in Spain (except for a few produced as Houseplant in Holland), each area have a few "varieties" adapted to its climate, specially along the coast. These plants are usually given as a gift from a neighbor and they have some degree of cold-hardiness. Only a few reach the garden centers Until know all the plants I tried (from 3 different origins) have not survived in my garden ( I am in zone 9a), but I also loosed several of the cold-hard varieties (Rajapuri, Dwarf Orinoco, Goldfinger ..) I hope you will have a better chance  |

Barna, when I was in Barcelona last year I swear I could see a banana-clump with fruit. I am having a hard time believing Barcelona is too cold for bananas?? Also, I was in Algarve, Portugal a few weeks ago. There, I could see plants with banana-bunches.

thanks!! where I live (in alicante) I dont have much problems for the cultive of bananas, in winter I have to protect them with plastic And other materials for the cold, But in spring, they return to grow very fast With the environmental heat  Even, heliconias can grow well in summer, out of house. I have two rostratas inside a small greenhouse and estan growing very well. ok, ya os contare mas cositas, saludos a todossss  |
