Hey folks! I'm new to this site. I am a tropical plant enthusiast and I enjoy collecting plants, but my space and climate zone limit me to terrarium plants. I like aroids, ferns, orchids etc - if it's small and tropical, I would probably like it.

(<< I don't know what this banana means, but the emoticons here are pretty cool) I don't have any banana plants of my own, but I'm enjoying browsing around here and checking out yours! Great site, by the way.

Hey! There are banana varieties only 12" high that you can fit in your terrarium!

Hiya Greenview, welcome to the board!

There are people here who keep lots of other plants besides 'naners so have fun and cruise around.

Welcome aboard! If you're a terrerrium-only grower, check out High Colour Minis - they're the itsy-bitsy space-saver bananas.

Best of luck! And as we say here - bet you can't grow just one...

Hey guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome! I guess I've never really pursued Musa to find out if there were any really miniature clones. Perhaps the next time I set up a tank, I'll have to include a banana plant, but it would have to be around 4-8"; most of my tanks aren't very big. Oh, and I know all about not being able to grow just one! My tanks have become pretty dense due to my 'addiction'.

Here's one of the best looking tanks I have currently, since the plant placement has some purpose.
