BBTV is transmitted by aphids. I seriously doubt that is the issue. In fact, I'm not really sure you even have an issue. Your banana looks like one of the Cavendish types, such as 'Super Dwarf Cavendish', 'Little Prince', or 'Truly Tiny'. The way you see the leaves growing is just sort of how these tend to grow sometimes. I see you did state that it is a 'Dwarf Cavendish'.

Another possibility is that it was underpotted for too long, became rootbound and was in serious need of a bigger pot and fertilizer when you bought it and it just hasn't quite come out of it's "funK" yet. Give it time and I think it will be fine.
