Default Introduction

Like many others on this forum I have been bitten by the bananabug.

I live in the middle of the Netherlands and have in my garden the following banana species: Musa Basjoo, M. sikkemensis, M. velutina and Musella lasiocarpa.

The bananabug had bitten me after I bought my first Musa basjoo and i saw the speed of growing of this plant. Nowadays this banana is more than 5 m tall.

As an almost graduated student master Plantsciences i have done my internship at the Laboratory of tropical crop improvement in Belgium, which harbors the genebank of banana.

I`m sure i will enjoy this forum,

Dirk
