Thanks, Scot. I think you are right, it should end with an "eh" sound. I tried to click the Thanks box but there wasn't one under your name. I was wondering the same thing about the Gros Michel.
Seagrapes: Humuhumunukunukuapua'a was the fish I was thinking of! Can you imagine coming up with a name like that? If I caught one of those and someone asked me if I caught anything I'd just have to say "Nope!"
