Default Monoculture and Panama Disease

https://theconversation.com/amp/the-...inction-112256

Interesting article about the susceptibility of monocrops to disease. The article goes pretty in depth and I actually learned a lot about banana genetics. It also explores some possible solutions to preventing the spread of Panama disease, including GMO (boo!) and companion planting and increasing varieties (yay!)

Would love to hear some opinions on commercial practices versus permaculture style banana growing. Enjoy!
