well you don't have to cook to do a pickle jar. you go to the store and get a very large jar of pickles. I like the gallon jars and the pickles. eat or throw away the pickles. throw in your nanners and some peppers of your choice. throw it in the fridgedair and give it 2 or more months. the longer you wait the better the flavor.
that's how they do pickled eggs and sausage or olives or ocra or etc.
now you do not want to use straight vinegar or the juice from an olive jar. just pickles. you can keep a pickle jar for years putting in vegetables and occasionally adding pickle juice from other jars. I like to do breakfast sausage along with the vegetables but eventually the fat from the sausages makes it go stale.
word of caution:
the habaneros never after years in a pickle jar LOOSE THEIR HEAT.
