oh ok you are storing just the corms
i was trying to keep pstems as well
it was the pstems which were shriveling up
maybe i needed to have them in coarse sand when i planted them out but i have not...

i havent had much luck with dry storing thus far
it may be that i have not kept the right and consistent temperatures and humidity
humidity has probably been my biggest issue as each time i attempt...

last year i believe i did not put enough wood chips on my basjoos in the backyard
in years past i had bought some straw bales which i used to insulate the stone retaining wall which also helped in...

hopefully this basjoo makes it through the winter

its a couple hours drive north of here and i am worried about the water table being so close.. like maybe it is detached from the ground heat
could have use more wood chips i think but i ran out of...

edit: it was 2 weeks ago i brought most of them inside
i tried keeping some of them a bit taller instead of hacking them down to 1 foot tall
actually my maurelli were only dug out of the ground...

except he uses c9 incandescent christmas lights pugged into a thermo cube

sorry for the late reply all43, it is in a fabric pot that is around 35 gallons
pstem is 4.5 feet ... the last one was just under 3 feet
this one is thicker and healthier that the last one that...

i looked back at my thread on here and it looks like the flower first started to emerge june 24th 2023 and i was eating the bananas about 7 months later
it wasnt a thriving plant but it did produce...

dwarf namwa has been a good one for me
and that is bringing it inside each winter (long winter 7 months+or-) under lights
i think it is in a 35 gallon fabric pot

yes my white jade did fruit for me and produced 14 baby plants
some around the base, some below the fruit and also the one i cut off the top of the fruit
prolific and good tasting
it is like razor...

basjoo breaking ground.... little behind this year

the first sprout is pushing through the chips in the front yard
usually its the one in the backyard that sprouts first as it has been established longer
i was a bit worried i did not put enough chips...

I tried to start some castor beans seeds a couple springs ago but none came up
I collected them from a plant nearby with the permission of the owner in the fall
I remember my dad growing a castor...
